You've been carrying this quietly for a long time. You don't have to any more.

If fear of vomiting has been shaping your days — what you eat, where you go, whether you feel safe leaving the house — you've probably become very good at hiding it. Maybe you've never even said the word emetophobia out loud to anyone. I understand. And I'm here to help.

Welcome — I'm really glad you're here.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that reaching out takes courage — especially when you've been managing this alone for so long.

I'm Jacky, a CBT therapist and emetophobia specialist. Over the years I've helped many people find their way through this fear — people who felt exactly as you might be feeling right now. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and completely paced by you. We work together, at your speed, toward the life you want to be living.

If emetophobia is getting in the way of you living your life, you're in the right place.

ABOUT

You are not alone in this

Emetophobia is one of the most common specific phobias — but it can feel like the loneliest thing in the world. Most people have never heard of it. Many sufferers spend years managing it in silence, quietly rearranging their lives around it before they ever reach out for support.

I'm Jacky — a warm, down-to-earth CBT therapist and emetophobia specialist. I've worked with many people who felt exactly as you might be feeling right now. I know this fear is real, I know how much it takes from you, and I know the way through it.

I'm BABCP accredited with extensive NHS and private practice experience — but more than anything, I offer a steady, compassionate presence. Someone genuinely in your corner.

How I can help

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — methods with strong evidence behind them specifically for emetophobia.

But more than any technique, what I offer is a warm, honest, steady presence. Someone in your corner who genuinely understands this fear and knows the way through it.

Every step is agreed with you in advance. Nothing happens without your readiness — you stay in control throughout. Sessions are via Zoom, which many people with emetophobia find reassuring — you're in your own safe space throughout.

What getting started looks like

1. We have a free 15-minute call — no commitment, just a chance to talk, ask questions, and see if we feel like a good fit.

2. If we decide to work together, we'll start with a warm, thorough assessment — mapping your experience of emetophobia and what matters most to you.

3. Together we'll build a plan that fits your life, your pace, and your goals — working steadily toward the freedom you deserve.

A few things people often ask

Will I have to vomit in therapy? Absolutely not. Exposure therapy doesn't aim to make you vomit. Everything is gradual and gentle, starting only with things that feel manageable enough.

I'm not sure therapy will work for me — I've had this for years. That's one of the most common things I hear — and it's completely understandable. The length of time you've had emetophobia doesn't determine how well you'll respond to treatment. Recovery is possible, and I've seen it happen.

How long will it take? Everyone's journey is different. Many people find that after around 16–20 sessions they have everything they need to keep progressing independently. We'll review regularly so you always know how things are going.

I'm not sure I'm ready — can I just find out more first? Of course. The free call is exactly for that. No pressure, no commitment — just a conversation.

Whenever you're ready — whether that's today or in a few weeks after sitting with this a little longer — I'll be here.

Recovery isn't about being brave or pushing through. It's about taking one small step at a time with someone walking alongside you.

I'd love to be that person for you.
